So I had a conversation with a lady in the elevator at Children's today, because (a) I'm at Children's a lot and it sort of feels normal to talk to everyone there and (b) well, because I'm just dang chatty and talk to everyone!
But it was sweet and it was a recharge and a blessing and a pay it forward all in one.
We were in the elevator and she joined me with her child. I had the 3 smallest kids with me. She stepped in and said, "oh your kids are beautiful!" Little Miss volunteered that they had been good and we were going to the park next, but not with the big kids. She asked if I had more and I said yes, two more at summer camp. She laughed and said, "oh sounds just like our bunch". That was when I said, "The more the merrier right?"
This is where it gets good. So she looks at me and says, you know, people always look at us and say, "Oh you sure have your hands full!" She smiled and said, "I always tell them I'd rather have my hands full than my arms empty." She started to laugh and said, they never know what to say to that! After we both laughed I shared my rental comeback with her. You know the one, "wow, are all those kids yours?" "Nope, they're rentals."
So maybe it was a pay it forward or a love cost pay out or maybe it was just God in the elevator!

Sweet to find common ground with someone. Glad you had that today.
lol! I'm stealing both of your comebacks.. I go the most strange looks with my 4 yesterday (and to me 4 is not a lot of kids!?) so I know as we add more it's gonna happen! lol (the comments)
It is so important to find ppl that understand and appreciate what you do and why you do it. I know we get often enough why others "could never" do it.. *insert eye roll here* so it's always a welcome blessing to find someone that understands.
