Your Mask Or Mine

Monday, October 1, 2012
When you saw the word mask, was your first interpretation protection, covering up, persona, or performance?

My first thoughts are masks are dangerous and necessary.

We use them for protection of ourselves or others.

They make us liars.

It is a red flag the second someone says they are fine, or whatever version of that is their poison.

Masks make us silent, eventually angry and lonely.

They keep us from taking risks.

Masks are vaguely like self-censoring and self-censoring to a degree is necessary for relationships to function.

They bug me and yet there are very, very few people I take mine off for.

They are like everything else, a double edge sword, a thing you can't live with and can't live without, a taste of bittersweet.
