Sometimes You Have To Stop & Celebrate

I haven't opened my file yet today.

I haven't yet written any words except the ones directly before this one.

I haven't done my laundry, thawed the chicken for dinner or finished last nights dishes yet.

But here's what I have done.

I celebrated.

With a pair of my 20-somethings.

They have come through much, moved some mountains in their lives, found some joy and accomplished some pretty cool stuff.

Chicklet and Texas Caliente, you have much to be proud of and you should know, I'm proud of you both.

You are extraordinary, amazing chicks and you're working hard and rocking your worlds and I couldn't be happier for you both.

It was a fantastic way to spend my time today, watching you and listening to you.

I loved hearing you walk through the pages of your lives together song by song, your laughter filling up every place we went.

It is a treat to have been a part of your lives as long as I have been. Being your friend, your listening ear, your kick in the butt, your snuggle, your lap to nap on and your shoulder to cry on has been a privilege.

I am honored.

Living life with you as you've grown from teens, all awash in the crazy that is that age to the confidence that is a 20-something coming into her own has been a pretty cool ride.

I am so looking forward to being a part of the rest of your 20's and 30's and beyond.
