In 2010 I wrote a book.
In 2011 life was happening to me at a furious pace. I got busy. Really busy. I let a lot of things and people take a lot of my time and energy.
I set the book down.
I made pretend goals and fantasy deadlines.
I wrote and worked at it half-ass.
2012 came. I decided I'd have my book for sale online by my birthday in September. This book finished and for sale before I ended my 40th year was my goal.
I was still mostly phoning it in.
Life shifted and changed again. It has a funny way of doing that.
I now have time and space and silence to work. I opened the book again a few days ago.
I'm just about half way right now.
I still like my story. I like my characters. I will admit there are times when I'm working on telling this story, their story when I laugh or smile at my computer because of them. I shift my writing soundtrack when they are angry or broken, when love begins, when they are tender.
I am happy that 2 years later I still like them.
You, few readers, will be among the first to know when the book hits.
